Flavor Notes: Lemon, Honey, Orange Blossom
In the Djimma/Limu region lies the small town of Gummay Woreda Estates. In 2017, a local agricultural project introduced an upgraded farming activity. This initiative gradually replaced the existing heirloom variety with the local native breed Geisha, culminating in the production of the first batch of Geisha coffee in 2022. The Geisha variety requires over four to six years to develop its distinctive flavor fully. Despite the extended growth period, the natural high altitude and ample rainfall, contribute to its remarkable profile--an unforgettable fine taste of lemon, coupled with mango and white floral fragrance . Furthermore, the sweet and citrusy notes have been refined through collaboration with the local community. By meticulously managing fermentation time and post-production water quality, this Geisha coffee offers a dominant aroma and flavor reminiscent of lemon candy, mango, sweet cream and jasmine.
